Discover Your Body's Wisdom

'Trust Your Body's Innate Healing Intelligence.
The Power to Heal is Inside All of Us'

-Dr CarliAxford, Founder of the Spinal Flow Technique

The Spinal Flow® Technique is a fast, effective way to heal from pain, dis-ease, and illness. Founded by Dr. Carli Axford, the healing modality is simple to learn and has its roots in the science and anatomy of the spine and nervous system.

The Spinal Wave is at the heart of the Spinal Flow Technique, waiting to ripple through the body and allow the body’s innate healing intelligence to flow. The Spinal Wave connects all 7 gateways of the spine and unleashes profound well-being in the body. Spinal Flow Technique practitioners help transform people experiencing symptoms ranging from pain, depression, anxiety, headaches, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and more.

The 7 Gateways of the Spine

Spinal Flow Technique practitioners learn the 7 gateways of the spine, to feel and assess each of the spine’s 33 vertebrae for spinal blockages. Our bodies hold signs and symptoms of the stress we’ve experienced, Spinal Flow practitioners know how to feel for the three types of stress which cause spinal blockages – chemical, physical or emotional stress. By using powerful communication and hands-on contact with the 33 access points of the spine to initiate the Spinal Wave™ and release spinal blockages they relieve people’s pain, symptoms, and dis-ease by connecting their nervous system to the brain to release spinal blockages and integrate their experiences.

The technique transforms people’s well-being by connecting them to what already works in their body and expanding that to allow the Spinal Wave to flow from the coccyx to the cranium.

Additional Information about the Spinal Flow Technique

The Spinal Flow®Technique is based on the philosophy, science, and touch that prompts our spine and nervous system to release and integrate stress that causes spinal blockages and prevents spinal flow. There is an innate instinct inside every human body to restore, allay and mend itself. Just as our gut digests our food and our hair grows, our bodies know how to heal by harnessing the nervous system.

The spinal flow technique combines many techniques and approaches together to bring the client's energy and attention inside their body so healing could happen.

The Science of Spinal Flow

The human body has been perfectly designed to serve us with the senses, organs, and anatomy that enable us to function by walking around, looking after ourselves, and thinking.

The spine and nervous system are the master controllers of the human body but stressors can interrupt the healthy flow of messages up and down the spine through our nerves to our organs.

The Spinal Flow Technique’s detailed understanding of the 7 gateways of the spine and 33 access points helps practitioners learn everything they need to know about enabling the Spinal Wave and helping others release spinal blockages.

The anatomy of the spine – and its intimate connection to glands, organs, and tissues throughout the body – are the basis of The Spinal Flow Technique.

The Philosophy of Spinal Flow

The body has its own wisdom, and this is the philosophy that underpins Spinal Flow Technique. There is a Spinal Wave™ sitting inside every human body, waiting to connect our brains with our nervous system and fully explore the wisdom within. The Spinal Flow Technique is based on the philosophy that the human body has everything it needs inside itself to heal.

The body has an innate intelligence to help us respond to the demands of the world around us. Just as there is a state of equilibrium – where healing, digestion, and well-being happen – there is equally a load of pressure and stress in our modern lives.

The three most common forms of stress are stored as spinal blockages. Emotional stress from past traumas, chemical stress from the foods we eat and the products that surround us, and physical stress from accidents, postural strain, or sustained sitting lead to blockages.

The Touch of Spinal Flow

The Spinal Flow Technique uses touch, palpation, anatomical postural assessments, and the 7 gateways of the spine to help locate spinal blockages. In spinal flow, there is no physical force applied, the contacts are gentle. Spinal Flow is more of a tonal technique and finds spinal blockages that release via contacting access points along the dura mater which form a Spinal Wave.

All certified practitioners learn the art of touch, palpation, and other techniques to find and release spinal blockages, as well as the key assessments and tests.

The Spinal Flow Technique also trains practitioners in how to communicate with clients so they can identify the stress, and how long it has been in the body to allow healing to happen.

The 7 gateways of the spine are the main assessment tool used in Spinal Flow Technique. Each gateway holds different symptoms and stories of an individual’s life experience, particularly with stress.

Spinal Blockages & 33 Access Points

In spinal flow, there is no physical force applied, and the contacts are also gentle. Spinal Flow is more of a tonal technique and finds spinal blockages that release via contacting access points along the dura mater which form a Spinal Wave. It’s the client’s body that heals itself via the Spinal Wave. The Spinal Flow Technique works with the premise that the body is intelligent and if there are blockages being held, they are meant to be there and that the body will release these itself.

The human body has everything it needs inside of it to heal, particularly the 33 access points. Practitioners learn to feel where these access points are located on the body, and how to make contact with them to release spinal blockages. The 33 access points are located mostly on the sacrum and cranium, where the dura mater is close to the skin. Making contact with these access points sends a message to the brain to release spinal blockages.
